A paper pulp painting workshop with a somatic component focused on sensing the living tissue of our bodies.

​

The workshop started off with a somatic process to awaken our systems and access the sensation of the material of our bodies, to prepare us for working with organic material, as well as a create a possible source of imagery for making a visual poem.

​

Participants were then lead through the process of transforming used paper, mixed with found plant materials, to create a pulp painting.  Themes of bones, decomposition, digestion, cycles, subtle structure, and entanglement with the beauty in both living, decaying and ‘waste’ material.
